FITCO completes Architectural Walls for Thompson Reuters

Architectual Walls for Thompson Reuters

FITCO Furniture Installation has successfully completed the glass build-out of architectural walls for the Thompson Reuters company at 3 Times Square in New York City. These new walls were delivered and installed to create conference rooms, offices, and elevator enclosures. Thompson Reuters had recently acquired the space for expansion. The project upgraded the entire floor and gave the office space a new modern new look.

FITCO carpenters in cooperation with professionals from Dirtt Environmental Solutions Ltd. worked in tandem to complete this project. Dirtt Environmental Solutions, Ltd. produced high grade panels with 8'10" 6mm glass for the project. The glass has an attractive opaque film applied to its surface which provides privacy while still allowing light to shine through. The trim on the walls is anodized aluminum with a Dirtt shimmer powder coating. Designed by Gensler Architect and constructed by the general contractor of Structuretone Inc., the project was a collaboration that required extensive planning, communication and expertise to complete.

The Dirtt project team was handled by Mario Arostegui and field supervisor Michael Akerley. FITCO's team was headed by Joseph Fernandez and Shamus Barnes. As the walls were assembled, they were custom fitted to the space. FITCO carpenters assembled several specially sized pieces that had to be fabricated in order to make everything fit the space. This job was delivered and installed in record time due to Dirtt Environmental Ltd.'s ability to custom manufacture wall segments on demand.
